The Age Old Riddle : Does God Exist Or Not???

Firstly, I would like to say that, this article is not intended to hurt anyone’s belief system. This is just a viewpoint that is highlighted.

We all know that for many centuries a question doesn’t have an answer with any valid proof from even the most brilliant mind in this world. And that question is “Does God exist or not?” Many people argue on this issue, but without any proof and so do I. But you’ll find my answer to be different from many others, at the end of this article.

For Science:

Now let us start with the people who do not believe in God. So, if they don’t believe in God, in what do they believe in then? Yes! They believe in Science. According to them Science is supreme and all things are explainable by it. Nothig is impossible in Science. So far, it was believed that only God has the power to create beings. But Science has proved it wrong through genetic cloning. Science created beings that are never known before. Through Science, people have defied the laws of nature. They have made rain to occur artificially and so many other things, that in ancient world was thought to be controlled only by God is now controlled by humans. People now worship Science.

Here is the next part of the article, that is most interesting.

For Religion:

Coming to the people who believe in God, they talk about soul, body, heaven and hell. Let me state a true incident which will question the supremacy of science. This incident is an extract of a newspaper article, and I couldn’t remember the exact details of locations and names specified in it.

I put forth this boy named Ankesh (this name should bring a smile or even anger to one of my friend’s face, but that’s a different issue ;-)) aged 7 yrs living in a village in India. Sorry, I couldn’t remember the name of the village. This boy after his 7th birthday started telling his parents, the details of his previous birth! He told his address of residence, his family member’s names, even his wife’s name and various other details of his so called ‘previous birth’. Ankesh’s parents with some eagerness to cheak this out, went to that address as told by their son. They were astonished to find real people and all other details according to what Ankesh had said. There was this widow whose husband’s name was the same as told by Ankesh and he had died only 7 years back, a day before Ankesh was born!!! Here is the example for soul, body and life after death.

Does Science have an explanation for this? No, but religion has, unfortunately without any proof.

Also there are many other issues that doesn’t have any explanation in Science. Still scientists don’t know what is the Dark Energy and the Dark Matter that pervades over the universe. Also, does anyone know what was there before the Big Bang? If there was this point where the Big Bang occurred, what was there beyond this point! Scientists are still clueless. So Science is also imperfect.

Atheists argue that Science will show God doesn’t exist, and religions argue that through God alone the knowledge of Science is created. This just goes on and on.

But my answer to this Age Old Riddle is,

For the atheists – God is the other name of Science i.e. Science is God.

For the Religion – Science is the other name of God i.e. God is Science.

Finally your mind alone determine what you believe in. So believe in yourself first.

Is India having the richest petroleum reserve in the world?

The Tethys Ocean:

About 250 million years ago, during the Triassic period, Gondwana and Laurasia were the only continents. Later due to the movement of tectonic plates, present day continents formed. The ocean separating these two continental shelves is called as The Tethys Ocean. A piece of Gondwana known as Cimmeria, traveled north, pushing the floor of the Tethys Ocean under the eastern end of Laurasia. This lead to the formation of present day India and other south-east Asian countries. The pushing of the floor of cimmeria lead to the formation of the Himalayas. Hence my inference is that, an ocean has existed where the Himalayas and the Northern India exists. As a proof of this, geologists have found fossils of ocean creatures in the rocks in the Himalayas.

Now let’s move to the second part of my article.

Origin Of Petroleum:

There are two theories regarding the origin of petroleum, abiogenic theory and biological theory. According to the biological theory, crude oil and natural gas is the product of compression and heating of ancient organic materials over geological time. Today's oil formed from the preserved remains of prehistoric zooplankton and algae, which had settled to a sea or lake bottom in large quantities and the remains of prehistoric terrestrial plants, on the other hand, tended to form coal. Over geological time the organic matter mixed with mud, and was buried under heavy layers of sediment resulting in high levels of heat and pressure. This caused the organic matter to chemically change into petroleum.

Inference:

Combining these two theories, I infer that the ocean of tethys existed where there is northern India right now. Being an ancient ocean it should have contained lots of organic beings, whose remains must have got settled at the bottom of the ocean over a long period of time i.e. for a period of 100 million years. Also due to the movement of the tectonic plates and eventually due to the formation of present day India, these organic being should have undergone the reactions that led to the formation of petroleum. Hence a very huge reserve of petroleum should exist underneath the northern plains of India and may be under the Himalayas. But this may be found very deep inside the crust of the earth to dig a well or to be detected by the meteorological dept. Hence I conclude that India has a very rich oil reserve which is still undiscovered and unexploited.

This article is purely based on my imagination that occurred to me when I was doing my 10th grade through my lessons in geography and chemistry. This theory may have been stated before itself by some other people, but I’m not aware of that. This is just a thought which I put into words.
